ThermoCON refers to a high-tech medical equipment that is specially developed to convey Radio-frequency currents into a human body only through the tip of its electrode needle which is percutaneously inserted so that it can send joule heat generated by the radio frequency only to tissues surrounding the needle for their pain management or thermocoagulation of tumor.

  • ThermoCON using minim invasive method which concerns an operation following a simple local anesthesia is so convenient and safe that you can work on continuos operation while communicating with patients..
  • Since it’s possible to delicately adjust the temperature and time to produce a lesion, you can easily control its size or shape.
  • Since ThermoCON uses a 470kHz Radio-frequency in which sensory nerves and motor nerves aren’t stimulated, you can work on coagulation or necrosis of a specific tissue while not resulting in inconvenience or muscular contraction to patients.
  • Since a single ThermoCON is needed for pain management or thermocoagulation of concerned tissues, or thermocoagulation of tumor, etc.,  it’s so economical that it can be applied to a variety of medical area.
  • Since the ThermoCON uses temperature control method, not impedance control method, it can prevent unexpected results such as carbonization or burn.

LOW POWER LESION

Impedance Mode

  • Measure an electrical resistance between the tip of electrode probe and its patient plate
  • Monitors an electrical continuity of a circuit

– Normal resistance: 10 ̴ 1000

  • Locates the electrode tip

– Epidermic fat and skin: 700 ̴ 2000

– Muscolar tissues: 300 ̴ 1000

– Nervous tissues: 50 ̴ 500

Stimulation Mode

  • Distinguishes location of the electrode if it is placed on sensory nerve or motor nerve through electrical stimulation

– Reacts to about 50Hz alone (sensory nerves)

– Reacts to about 2Hz alone (motor nervs)

  • Checks if an operation is successful through comparing a pain after and before the operation by applying an electrical stimulation.

Pulsed Lesion Mode

  • Minimizes possible side effects of radio frequency thermocoagulation through a pulsed output for nerve blocks.
  • Prevents a destruction of nerves by maintaining the coagulation temperature under 44°C.

Continuous Lesion Mode

  • Automatically controls the output level up to 8W to maintain a set temperature
  • Get autumnally turned off in accordance with the time (30sec. – 180sec.) set by the Timer

Controls a pain through blocking a nerve that triggers it.

HIGH POWER LESION

Impedance Mode

  • Measures the electric impedance value around the end tip of the probe.
  • Electrical continuity monitoring

– Normal range: 10 – 1000

  • To locate the end tip of the probe

– Subcutaneous fat and skin: 700 – 2000

– Muscle tissuetessuto muscolare: 300 – 1000

– Nervous tissue: 50 – 500

*The impedance value can be variable depending on measuring conditions or patient constitution.

Lesion mode

  • Automatically controls the output level to maintain a set temperature
  • Gets automatically turned off in accordance with the time  (1 min – 30 min.) set by the Timer
  • Makes a wide area of tissues coagulated and necrotized through lesion time up to 50W in output and up to 30 minutes.
  • Applied to coagulation and necrosis of benign tumors.

TIMED LESION

Continuous Lesion Mode

  • Automatically controls the output level up to 50W to maintain a set temperature.
  • Get automatically turned off in accordance with the time (1min – 30 min.) set by the Timer.
  • Coagulates a comparatively lower area of inner tissues than that of High Power Lesion.
  • Applied to thermocoagulation of benign prostate hypertrophy, etc..

One-Shot Mode

  • Automatically controls the output level up to 50W to maintain a set temperature.
  • Gets automatically turned off in accordance with the time (10-60 sec.) set by the timer
  • Is applied to coagulation of inner tissues that requires a higher output than that of Low Power Lesion and a shorter output time than that of High Power Lesion.
  • Applied to discoplasty, etc.

Pain Management – Low Power Lesion

  • Monitors the electrical continuity of patient circuit through measuring impedance.
  • Distinguishes sensory nerves from motor nerves through a electrical stimulation.
  • Precisely monitors the temperature for tissue coagulation up to 90°C & automatically controls the output up to 8W in accordance with such temperature so that it blocks a pain by coagulating nerves that trigger it.
  • Selectively block a nerve that triggers pains through a pulsed output without destroying it.

Tumor Coagulation and Ablation – High Power Lesion

  • Monitors the temperature for tissue coagulation up to 100°C & automatically controls the output up to 50W in accordance with such temperature so that it can work itself on lesion output for maximum of 30 minutes and coagulate a tumor 3 – 5cm in diameter.
  • Monitors the electrical continuity of circuit through measuring impedance.

Inside Tissue Coagulation – Timed Lesion

  • Supports the timer covering 10 seconds – 30 minuts with up to 50W output so that it can to an operation that requires a higher output than that of Low Power Lesion and a shorter output time than that of High Power Lesion

General Functions of Low Power / High Power / Timed Lesion

  • Doesn’t result in any unnecessary monitoring af a patient since it automatically gets turned off after the time you have set.
  • Possible to work on a safe operation through detecting the temperature for tissue coagulation and triggering its feedback so that the output is automatically controlled.
  • Possible to control ON/Off of the output by the foot switch, which means you can operate even at a distance away from the instrument.

 Safety function during the operation

  • A warning sound goes off and the output gets stopped when there is something wrong by automatically detecting 50W / 8W temperature sensor probe.
  • Checks if the probe of temperature sensor and its patient plate are correctly connected before an operation.
